Accessibility and Support Services for Students with Disabilities and Special Needs
At Nazarbayev University, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, including those with disabilities and special needs. Our goal is to ensure equal access to education, facilities, and opportunities, empowering every student to thrive academically and personally.
At NU, we understand disability as a physical or mental impairment that has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on a person’s ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities. Disability covers a wide range of physical and mental impairments that may or may not be visible.

Special learning needs include conditions that are physical, cognitive, socio-emotional, and psychological in nature and impede a student’s access to the Nazarbayev University environment, learning content, or assessment practices of their courses or programs. These conditions can be temporary, permanent, or intermittent and must be diagnosed or validated by a recognized assessor, such as a medical practitioner or psychiatrist.
