The NU Sports Complex is a multifunctional sports facility that includes the Athletic and Sports Centers, with an Olympic standard swimming pool, a multifunctional hall, a squash room, various sports halls; Gym for faculty/staff and campus residents’ located in block 38; and outdoor summer sports fields (football, basketball, volleyball).
The main goal of the NU Sports Complex is to care for the well-being of students and the community of NU.
Today the complex works in two directions: organizing an advanced sports research cluster in the Central Asian region and increasing the number of community members involved in sports.
In the near future, the sports complex aims to increase the number of community members actively involved in sports by up to 70%. To achieve this goal, the cultivation and demonstration of the results of a healthy lifestyle are carried out, and the reduction of the harmful effects of an unhealthy and antisocial lifestyle among community members and visitors.
In fulfilling the tasks of organizing an advanced sports research cluster, the center collaborates with other schools of the university. Thus, the School of Medicine has established a Master's Degree Program in Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation and Sports Analytics. The first graduates of the program are already attending the center. National teams in triathlon, taekwondo, rock climbing, and other sports training and have training camps in the center. The coaches and instructors of the center undergo professional development on ongoing basis, which gives impetus to the development of the university sports community
