
Nazarbayev University Students Lead Life-Saving Blood Donation Events
At Nazarbayev University, student volunteers from the NU Red Crescent Society, with the support of the Health and Well-being Department, have been actively organizing blood donation drives to promote a culture of giving and community service. These events not only provide essential blood supplies to Research and Production Center of Transfusiology for medical emergencies but also highlight the commitment of NU students and staff to making a meaningful impact on society.
Impactful Blood Drives: 2023-2025
Over the past two academic years, multiple blood donation events were successfully held across campus, engaging 687 donors and collecting a total of 289.2 liters of blood, potentially saving 2,061 lives.

- Blood Donation with IGEM (September 8, 2023) – 43 donors, 19.35 liters
- Halloween Blood Drive (October 30-31, 2023) – 136 donors, 61.2 liters
- Women’s Blood Drive (March 7, 2024) – 117 donors, 52.65 liters
- Red Week Blood Drive (March 26, 2024) – 45 donors, 20.25 liters
Academic Year 2024-2025:
- Halloween Blood Drive (October 30-31, 2024) – 156 donors, 70.2 liters,
- Valentine’s Day Blood Drive (February 13-14, 2025) – 190 donors, 85.5 liters
